U.S. Rep. Garret Graves, a Republican from Baton Rouge, has been a strong advocate for the 6th District and the state as a whole in his first two years in Congress. He was instrumental in getting his colleagues in the House to approve a flood relief package after historic rainfall in south Louisiana in August. He organized a trip to the flood zone for members of Congress from other states to help them understand the breadth of damage.
